2. Information We Collect

  • Account information: your email address and password (stored securely via Supabase).
  • Child profile information: your child's name, age group, and interests that you voluntarily provide to personalize stories. We do not collect information directly from children.
  • Story content: the stories and illustrations generated for your account.
  • Usage data: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and performance purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and deliver personalized storybooks.
  • To send transactional emails (account verification, password reset).
  • To improve our service and fix technical issues.
  • We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
  • We do not use your data for advertising.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party providers to operate the service:

  • Supabase — authentication and database storage.
  • Vercel — web hosting and content delivery.
  • fal.ai — AI image generation for story illustrations and text-to-speech narration.
  • Anthropic — AI text generation for story content (Claude).
  • Inngest — background job processing for story generation.

Each provider operates under its own privacy policy and data processing agreements.

5. Children's Privacy

Storio is designed for parents and guardians to create stories for their children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. All accounts must be created and managed by an adult. If you believe a child has provided us personal information without parental consent, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time directly in the app via Account → Delete Account, or by contacting us at support@thestorioapp.com.

7. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure password hashing, and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take reasonable precautions to protect your information.

8. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing support@thestorioapp.com. Depending on your location, you may also have rights under GDPR, CCPA, or other applicable privacy laws.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by posting a notice in the app. Continued use of Storio after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
